We are pleased to announce the inaugural Cold Spring Harbor Asia conference on Human Genetics & Genomics which will be held at the Suzhou Dushu Lake Conference Center in Suzhou, China. The conference will begin at 7.30pm on the evening of Monday September 6th, and will conclude after lunch on Friday, September 10th, 2010.

This is the first genomics-themed meeting organized by CSH Asia, a salute to the rapid advancement of Asian countries within the fields of genetics and genomics. This conference will survey a wide range of topics including genomic structural variations and polymorphisms, population genetics, complex genetic traits, new technology and challengers… Like the Human Genome Project, which was a large-scale international collaboration, this meeting will foster new international cooperation at the forefront of genomics research within the most dynamic region of the world.

Abstract submission:

The majority of the talks will be given by invited speakers but some talks will be chosen from openly submitted abstracts. Abstracts should contain only new and unpublished material and must be submitted electronically by the abstract deadline. Selection of material for oral and poster presentation will be made by the organizers. Status (fellow’s talk/poster) of abstracts will be posted on our web site as soon as decisions have been made by the organizers.

Stipends:

We are eager to have as many young people as possible attend since they are likely to benefit most from this meeting. We have some funds to partially support graduate students and post docs.
